Inspired Classrooms

20-Minute Overview

Posted in Uncategorized by inspiredclassrooms on the October 24, 2006

If you want the whole story on Inspired Classrooms but are short on time, this page is for you. I have condensed the major ”selling points” of Inspired Classrooms into these five videos. OK, its a little more than 20 minutes, but its really good stuff. Just grab a coke and popcorn and enjoy. These videos should open in a new window:

Part 1: What is an Inspired Classroom (12 minutes)
Part 2: Setting Up a Room (19 minutes)
Part 3: Why inspired Classrooms? (7 minutes)
Part 4: The Dangers of Technology Projects (10 minutes)
Part 5: Uusing New Tools to do New Work (16 minutes)

Please leave a comment using the comment link below and let me know what you think of these videos. I am interested to hear your points of view. If you have any ideas of more videos similar to these that would be helpful to you, let me know and I’ll get on it.

Hello I was just watching your website videos and you do not include the special education students, what types of classroom situations do you have for these students. I have High School special education. Thanks for your reply.

I am working toward my Masters in Special Ed, (last class) and I can see so many wonderful learning opportunities to be developed by using the “inspired classroom” design and model. It really is an inspirational concept in which I can visualize students really flying with the knowledge and new ideas gained and shared in this way.

I have learned from you that blogging can be great – I have always had a negative feeling about blogging because of all the bad press. Now I see how it can become a wonderful tool for any teacher/classroom.

Also learned more about podcasting, which I am anxious to try.

I think that a number of your techniques would be very useful for any class population, especially helpful to inclusion and special ed students to help level the playing field for them in addition to helping them to learn the skills of cooperation with others, which can raise their levels of learning too!

Inspired classroom is a great ideal for classrooms that have that many computers.I have two computers and one of them is super old! It has Windows 95! I also have 24 students. Great idea if you had the equipment for four students per computer. I love the website about the blog!!!!!
