Inspired Classrooms

WordPress.com Video Tutorials

Posted in blogging, staff development, videos by inspiredclassrooms on the July 27, 2006

I have created some more video tutorals in the form of WordPress how-to’s. I have started out recording some basic processes to get teachers to a point where they can start the school year with their classroom blog up and running. As time progresses, I will add more advanced tutorials. I also realize that these aren’t dealing with instructional concepts yet, but I had to start somewhere. Here’s what I have so far:

Part 1: Signing Up and Logging In
Part 2: First Steps     (here’s the handout)
Part 3: Posts & Comments
Part 4: Inserting Images and Hyperlinks
Part 5: Organize and Categorize
Part 6: Building a Blogroll

If you have a special need or would like to put in a specific request for the next tutorial, use the comment link below and let me know what you need. I will do my best to keep these coming.

    Darren,
Again, great job. I feel a little better about setting up a blog now. I’m trying to figure out the reason for my blog as an ITS. Can you think of ideas that I would use?

    Thanks,
    Deborah

Great help! I am so impressed and excited.

I have set up my Blog (mrsayres.wordpress) and can’t wait to get my classroom setup Inspired. Could you add help about how to add (copy/paste) information already created to the Blog (About) . I tried to add my Intro letter to parents to my about page and the spacing was off. (lines on top of lines)

We have just received grant monies to purchase digital audio recorders. We want to use these to produce podcasts on our class blog. Do you have a tutorial on podcasts? We used your tutorial on blogs to set ours up. It was a great help.

  6. Ms. Butler, we are pretty limited as far as what we use to podcast inside of the IISD network. WebSense blocks a lot of podcast sites/tools. I do have a work-around though. I have put up a site at http://www.irvingisd.net/inspiredclassrooms that teachers can use to upload documents, presentations, and yes…podcasts. I will email you the password and instructions so you can log in and upload your recordings. Once you have uploaded the .mp3 file to our file uploads site, you can link to it from your class blog.
